The Bruno Kreisky Fellowship programme is intended to promote a more intensive involvement of Austrian scientific and/or academic institutions – at the exception of universities – with the developments in regions neighbouring to the European Union, or regions which may have a direct or indirect influence on the development of the European Union and/or Austria.

Simultaneously, this Fellowship programme is intended to provide young scientists/scholars and politicians originating from the above mentioned regions with the opportunity to participate in qualified scientific projects relating to their respective regions of origin, and to contribute to a better understanding of their countries and/or regions in Austria.
