Reality shock
Ten lessons from the present

Do you have the feeling that the world has gone off the rails? You're not alone, many people have suffered a reality shock in recent years: our view of the world has often turned out to be a collective illusion. Who would have expected Trump to win the election? That the British would vote for Brexit? That hundreds of thousands would flee to Europe and tens of thousands would die in the process? That so many democracies would tilt to the right? That climate change is being felt so quickly? That a global climate youth movement is emerging overnight? In his book, Sascha Lobo explains why the world suddenly seems to have come apart at the seams and analyses where these drastic changes are coming from and what we can and must learn from them. Anyone who reads Reality Shock will understand why so many things that used to be taken for granted have simply fizzled out and will realise that most crises can be traced back to globalisation and digitalisation. How we deal with reality shock will determine how we live in the coming decades. Lobo's book shows how we can overcome the shock paralysis in order to regain the ability to act and cope better with the exhausting complexity of the world.
