THE NEW ECONOMIC WAR

»Germany's most exciting young economist«
- Berliner Zeitung

Putin's terrible attack on Ukraine was a turning point - also for economic policy. The West responded with sanctions that were unprecedented in their severity. At the same time, political mistakes of the past have been avenged: the dependence on Russian energy, the German investment backlog, the money laundering paradise in the property sector.
The economist Maurice Höfgen has now written a book for all those who want to understand the complicated economic sanctions and the role of central banks, energy giants and tax havens. He takes stock of the actions of the German "traffic light" government and explains which economic reforms we can use to tackle the challenges of the 21st century.

Anyone who wants to know how the sanctions work, exactly what effects they have, which of them are smarter and which are less smart - Höfgen has the answers. It's hard to avoid this book by the rising star of the young economist scene.
