The Bruno Kreisky Forum for International Dialogue, in conjunction with Polyfilm<\/a> and Filmcasino<\/a> would like to invite you to the Austrian premiere of Palestine\u201936 and a subsequent discussion on the struggle of Palestinian identity in the context of history.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The film traces the Arab Revolt in Palestine from 1936 to 1939, a pivotal uprising against British colonial rule and the growing influx of Jewish immigrants under the Mandate. It portrays this moment as a defining chapter in the formation of Palestinian identity, illustrating how communities mobilised through strikes, protests, and armed resistance. At the same time, the film also addresses internal divisions among Palestinian leaders or the severity of British repression. Drawing on historical footage and critical analysis, it ultimately argues that the events of 1936\u201339 left a lasting imprint, shaping political realities and conflicts that continue to resonate today. Following the screening, there will be a panel discussion exploring the ongoing struggle for Palestinian identity and resistance across time. In light of current developments in the region, the discussion will also address how these historical dynamics continue to shape contemporary political realities and public discourse.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
