He previously served as an Israeli negotiator during the Taba summit and the Oslo II peace process. He is currently president of the U.S.\/Middle East Project (USMEP) and was one of the founders of J Street.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Omar H. Rahman<\/strong> is a fellow at the Middle East Council on Global Affairs, where he focuses on Palestine, Middle Eastern geopolitics and US foreign policy in the region. He is the editor of&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/mecouncil.org\/afkar-articles\/?country=qatar\"><em>Afk\u0101r<\/em><\/a>, the Council\u2019s online publication providing insights and analysis on current events in the region. Rahman was previously a non-resident fellow at the Baker Institute for Public Policy and a visiting fellow at the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.brookings.edu\/center\/brookings-doha-center\/\">Brookings Doha Centre<\/a>, where he conducted research and wrote about Palestine-Israel, the Arab Gulf, and the intersection between the two. Prior to this, Rahman was a research analyst at the Arab Gulf States Institute, where he focused on the political economy of the Gulf states.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Moderation<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Gudrun Harrer<\/strong>, Lecturer in Modern History and Politics of the Near and Middle East at the University of Vienna and the Diplomatic Academy of Vienna; former Senior Editor at <em>Der Standard<\/em> (until 2025). <em><\/em><\/p>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Further information on the thematic framework will be updated soon.
