The stories Lorenz Gallmetzer tells in this book are dramatic, not least his own: the successful journalist keeps his depression under control with alcohol for many years, overcoming stress and fear of failure, until one day he has to admit that the addiction has him in its grip. The danger of becoming addicted lurks in many places. Anyone who has read this book will understand why.<\/p>\n
Born in South Tyrol, studied Romance languages, history and literature in Vienna and Milan. From 1981, he worked in the ORF foreign desk, initially as a correspondent in Washington, then for many years as a correspondent in Paris. After his return to Vienna, he became a reporter for ORF-Weltjournal in 2001 and in 2008\/2009 became head of the Club 2 programme. Today he lives as a journalist and author in Vienna.<\/p>\n
