She is also co-curator of the political, art and cultural festival Transeuropa (Madrid 2017, Belgrade 2015). She is interested in analysing the state of democracy(ies) in Europe and shaping the European promise to be a common, social, solidary and free space. She is committed to the sustainable networking of civil society actors in Europe and to the challenge of building a bridge between the local and the transnational. She recently published a reader with colleagues entitled: Shifting Baselines of Europe: new perspectives beyond neo-liberalism and nationalism with transcript Verlag. She studied social and political sciences in London, Paris and Cambridge.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Ulrike Beate Gu\u00e9rot<\/strong><br \/>is a German political scientist and publicist. She is Professor of European Politics and Democracy Research at Danube University Krems, founder of the European Democracy Lab (EDL) in Berlin and focusses on the future of the European Union.<\/p>\n<p>What do \u201eyoung people\u201c think about Europe? Is the social crisis of today the European crisis of tomorrow? And how important is youth activism for Europe today? Is it more in favour of or against Europe, and if so, what does that mean?
