How can the reorientation of nation states succeed in globalisation?<\/h2>\n

Wolfgang Petritsch<\/strong> was Secretary to Bruno Kreisky, later Austrian Ambassador in Belgrade and to the United Nations and the OECD in Paris as well as Kosovo Special Representative of the EU and UN High Representative for Bosnia. Lecturer at Harvard and Berkeley, internationally translated author and editor of numerous books.<\/p>\n

The cornerstones of our current world order have begun to totter: We are experiencing post-democracy, the resurgence of authoritarian forces and the replacement of liberalism as the guiding principle of the Western world. Civil war, terror, propaganda and cyber attacks are now replacing interstate wars. More and more countries around the world are succumbing to the authoritarian temptation, and the rise of China clearly shows that capitalism does not necessarily need democracy.
The experienced diplomat and UN Special Envoy Wolfgang Petritsch provides an insight into global political scenarios and sketches a confident picture of our future world order. The future can be shaped, and our grandchildren could also live in peace and prosperity - if we act in time.<\/p>\n
