She came from a poor, patriarchal, violent and uneducated immigrant family. How did she manage to become a pioneer of the Austrian women's movement? Do women who become politicians still have higher hurdles to overcome than men today? In the beginning, female politicians were often reduced to women's politics. Is that different today? Does gender influence their politics? On the occasion of the new edition of the key work of the social democratic women's movement ADELHEID POPP. JUGEND EINER ARBEITERIN in a politically annotated edition, editor Sibylle Hamann presents the social democrat once again one hundred years after her entry into the Austrian parliament.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Sibylle Hamann<\/strong>, publisher of \u201eJugend einer Arbeiterin\u201c, has recently also become a Green politician.
