The situation is similar in caring for the elderly; this care work is also often carried out unpaid by women within the family. After their paid work, i.e. after gainful employment, many women continue to do it - unpaid. In an interview with Gabriele Winker, Tessa Szyszkowitz tries to find answers as to why this care work is not recognised as \u201ereal\u201c work and whether something has changed in the unequal distribution of care work between men and women after the coronavirus crisis and whether society is on the way towards a more solidary structure.<\/p>\n<p><em><strong>Gabriele Winker<\/strong><\/em> is a German social scientist and Professor of Labour Studies and Gender Studies at the Technical University of Hamburg. Winker is co-founder of the Care Revolution network and author of the 2015 book Care Revolution.
