The COVID regulations in force at this time apply.<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n<h4>Jan Pospisil in conversation with Georg Lennkh<\/h4>\n<h4>CONFLICT LANDSCAPES OF SOUTH SUDAN<br \/>\nTaking stock of 10 years of independence<\/h4>\n<p>Ten years after gaining independence, the young Republic of South Sudan, after an initially promising start, has been embroiled in a complex and difficult to understand civil war since 2013, which is not very accessible to the public. In his newly published book \u201eConflict Landscapes of South Sudan\u201c, Austrian South Sudan expert Jan Pospisil analyses the fragments of the young state in detail and spans an arc that takes into account the colonial past and its effects as well as the transition process and ethno-politics. The meticulously written book is the starting point for a dialogue that attempts to take stock of a decade of independence and place it in a multi-polar context.
