The war in Ukraine has destroyed all hope that Europe will not experience any more armed conflicts. Once again, as after the Second World War and the fall of the Iron Curtain, a new peace order must be found. This requires thinking beyond the current military situation in the Ukraine war.<\/p>\n
The philosopher Julian Nida-R\u00fcmelin and others have published a book that counters the reduction of current debates to military logic and, at the same time, the false moralisation of foreign policy. The focus is on different perspectives for a new realpolitik, in which the interests of Ukraine are taken into account and at the same time the opportunities for stable security and peace are explored.<\/p>\n
Nida-R\u00fcmelin vehemently warns against a complete withdrawal from global dependencies. He sees this as a new bloc formation as in the Cold War. In an interview with Kreisky Forum President Rudolf Scholten, he explores possible prospects for a new peace order after the Ukraine war.<\/p>\n
