Venue: Angewandte Interdisciplinary Lab (AIL), <\/p>\n Lena Schilling grew up with the climate movement and has become one of Austria's most prominent and well-known activists. She helped organise the occupation of the Lobau and became the face of these protests, and today she is committed to climate justice and social issues. But how can such issues be defended most effectively? What kind of networking within civil society, but also internationally, is necessary and possible to really change structures? How can social and political movements be created without derailing them? Can activists really challenge the power of multinational corporations and break through the political inability of governments to act? Philipp Blom talks to Lena Schilling about whether and, if so, how a radical change is possible.<\/p>\n Lena Schilling<\/strong>, born in Vienna in 2001, is an Austrian climate activist who came to public attention with the Fridays for Future movement. The Viennese was the spokesperson for the initiative for a supply chain law, is the founder of the Youth Council and has been writing a weekly column in the Kronen Zeitung newspaper since June 2023. She primarily campaigns for climate justice, feminism and migration.<\/p>\n Philipp Blom<\/strong> was born in Hamburg in 1970. After living and working in Oxford, London and Paris, he now lives in Vienna. His historical works, essays and novels have been translated into 16 languages and have been honoured with numerous awards, including a fellowship at the Getty Research Institute in Los Angeles and the German Non-Fiction Prize. Blom is also a successful radio journalist and speaker.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n The discussion series Dialogues for Tomorrow critically examines the present from multiple perspectives in order to create a better understanding of tomorrow.
