Has everything really been said about Bruno Kreisky?\u00a0Daniel Aschheim<\/strong>, an Israeli diplomat, provides evidence to the contrary in his book. Around 50 years ago, Kreisky formulated the two-state solution for Israel and Palestine as a path to peace in the Middle East. An idea that has regained great - and sad - relevance today.<\/p>\n

Kreisky again and again. The politics of post-war Austria are inextricably linked with him and still characterise many who aspire to a political leadership position today. But his impact extends beyond that. At the end of the 1970s, Kreisky expressed his firm conviction that there could be no peace in the Middle East without one state for Israel and one for Palestine. Kreisky's proposal for a two-state solution was met with scepticism and hatred, but also admiration. Daniel Aschheim sheds light on the cult chancellor from a fresh and unprecedented perspective in all his ambivalence in dealing with his origins, in his handouts to former Nazis and in his attitude towards Israel and the Arab world.<\/p>\n

Daniel Aschheim, born in Jerusalem in 1988, is an Israeli diplomat and currently works at the Israeli Foreign Ministry. The graduate of European Studies at Hebrew University served as Deputy Consul General in the USA between 2020 and 2023. He lives with his family in Israel.<\/p>\n
