In view of the dramatic escalation of the refugee and asylum situation in Europe, the Burgtheater put the matinee under the sign of solidarity and made an appeal to \u201eEuropean humanity\u201c. \u201eWe must clearly demonstrate that we benefit from encounters with other cultures.\u201c (Karin Bergmann). The proceeds from the matinee went to the Caritas refugee aid organisation.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>The moving speech by the writer Josef Haslinger, \u201eMy dream of Europe\u201c, took centre stage.
