Tessa Szyszkowitz

Born 1967 in Stuttgart, historian, journalist and author, Distinguished Fellow at the Royal United Services Institute in London.
Dr. Szyszkowitz has been the Chair of the Committee for Editorial Independence (CEI) at Economia in Prague since 2022. She has run the bilingual blog Szylog since 2013. Living in London since 2010, she reports on British and European politics for the Austrian weekly newspaper Falter and other German-language media.
She previously worked as a correspondent for various media outlets in Jerusalem, Brussels, and Moscow.
Her thematic focus ranges from terrorism and nationalism to political developments in the Middle East and Europe. In her publications, she analyses the identity crisis of Western societies and the dynamics of authoritarian systems.
