Tobias Matern

Born 1978 in Germany, journalist, deputy head of the politics department at Süddeutsche Zeitung.

Matern worked for the SZ as a correspondent in South and Southeast Asia, including in Delhi and Bangkok, as well as in conflict zones such as Afghanistan, Pakistan and Myanmar. His thematic focus is on South Asia, transatlantic relations, and the interface of power, culture, and media.
