A GREEN REVOLUTION

A GREEN REVOLUTION
A new economic policy in times of climate crisis.
„A Green Revolution“ is an urgent call to see the climate crisis as an opportunity for a profound transformation and to work together to shape a just future worth living. An indispensable book for everyone, who want to play an active role in shaping the future.“
In order to avert or even just mitigate the climate catastrophe, it will not be enough for individuals to change their private consumption. We will have to restructure our entire economic system, purposefully and sensibly, but also without delay. The recent formation of a new government shows that this is even more difficult in times of tight budgets.
The answer to the climate crisis must therefore be nothing less than a radical reorientation of economic policy, says Chamber of Labour researcher Michael Soder. We need a green industrial revolution that promotes renewable energies, utilises sustainable production methods, thinks of economic processes in a circular economy and takes into account the effects of the transformation on inequality and distribution.
The author, an economist and socio-economist specialising in economic policy, sheds light on what needs to be done from a practical perspective. With many concrete examples, this book is a guide for political decision-makers, committed citizens and all interested parties.
He discusses with activist Afra Porsche, one of the leading spokespersons for the „Last Generation“ protest movement, which caused a lot of debate with its sticking campaigns and blockades - and recently disbanded.
