The Bruno Kreisky Forum for International Dialogue, in conjunction with City Cinema would like to invite you to a screening of ALL MY SISTERS and an afterward discussion on how growing up under autocratic and restrictive regimes shapes the lives of its citizens - and how they might cope.

Between 2007 and 2025, All My Sisters follows three sisters growing up in a loving family in Tehran. Over the course of eighteen years, the film traces their journey from early childhood to their lives as young women searching for freedom. Raised within a traditional environment, the sisters become both witnesses and protagonists of a generation in constant motion, facing change, questioning expectations, and shaping their own paths. Set in contemporary Iranian society, the film offers an intimate and powerful portrayal of youth, resilience, and transformation, raising a central question: what does the future hold for them?

Following the screening, we invite the audience to a panel discussion that will explore how growing up is shaped by life under restrictive political regimes. The conversation will bring together voices from Iran, Israel, and Russia, offering perspectives on what it means to come of age in societies where freedom of expression, movement, and self-determination cannot be taken for granted. The discussion aims to open a space for dialogue about resilience, identity, and the role of youth in shaping change. What does it mean to grow up when freedoms are restricted? How do individuals find their voice under pressure? And what forms of resistance, adaptation, or hope emerge in these environments? By bringing together diverse perspectives, the panel seeks not only to deepen understanding, but also to highlight the importance of dialogue, solidarity, and the ongoing struggle for personal and collective freedom.

Please note: The film will be in Farsi with English subtitles and the discussion will be conducted in English.

Tickets for the screening are 10,50 EUR.
