WHY RACISM?
From the invention of human races to resistance critical of racism
Since the violent death of George Floyd in Minneapolis in 2020, racism has also been the subject of open, controversial and heated debate in Germany. How does racism work, who does it serve and to what end? This book provides an overview of the concepts, the history and the present of this formative misanthropic ideology of domination. Recent developments and discourses are scrutinised and categorised. Aladin El-Mafaalani has been researching racism, discrimination and social inequality for over ten years and summarises the state of the discussion in this book in a generally understandable way.
