How we in the EU perceive China has an impact on our political positioning. How the EU is perceived in China has an impact on China's political positioning. It is nothing unusual if the view from the outside and the respective self-image are not congruent. When it comes to China and the EU, however, it seems to the curator that the discrepancy between self-image and external view is particularly great. In a loose series of events, „China in Focus“ attempts to bring these mutual perceptions into dialogue with each other and to build a new understanding of international relations in the 21st century, which China is playing a key role in shaping and profoundly changing.
