ARMIN NASSEHI

UNBEHAGEN
Theory of the overburdened society

„Difference in perspective instead of normative certainty - that is the craft that will determine the success of future coalitions and the future of our society in the 21st century - and you can learn this from Armin Nassehi.“
taz, Peter Unfried

The call for more community, solidarity and cohesion stems from our fervent desire to be able to act as one and possibly collectively. But modern society knows no place where its different functional logics can be sustainably harmonised. In crises, this systematic overburdening of society with itself becomes particularly clear.
Armin Nassehi shows why the attempt to politically unite all forces towards a common goal must inevitably fail in complex contemporary societies. This notorious disappointment results in a sense of unease that distracts our view of society from its fundamental self-overload.

The sociologist talks to Robert Misik about his new book.
