Countless of them arrive every week. Others have been here for longer and live among us. Every hour, someone has something to say about the refugees. Every newspaper is full of speculation about what they are like. But practically never do the refugees themselves have their say in this clamour of opinions. Yet they have knowledge and experience to contribute. They have experience of the conditions under which reception works. They know about the bureaucratic hurdles. They know the problems with qualifications and German courses. They know when integration works. They know the societies from which the refugees come and therefore know which groups of them have it easier and which can have problems here. They also have suggestions on how these problems can perhaps be minimised. Refugees present at the NOW conference have already provided important input and made practical suggestions that have been taken up by some mayors and aid organisations. We want to intensify these discussions in this public talk.

The event will be held in English.
