GERHARD ZEILER
PASSIONATELY RED
Austrian social democracy is in crisis. After the National Council elections on 29 September 2019, fundamental questions are being asked about the central messages of the former chancellor and workers' party. Does this political movement need a radical personnel and structural reboot in the face of social change brought about by globalisation, digitalisation and migration and/or is a return to the fundamental values of social justice and solidarity the order of the day?
The social democrat Gerhard Zeiler, who has been at the interface between politics and the media for forty years, takes a stand: he analyses past developments and current problems in domestic and foreign policy. With clear answers on the topics of equal opportunities, the economy, education and the environment, Zeiler shows a possible way forward for social democracy.
