Stability or graveyard peace

ASIEM EL DIFRAOUI
Stability or peace and quiet: six years of Abdelfattah al-Sisi in Egypt
In the tenth year after the fall of Hosni Mubarak, Egypt once again has an authoritarian president. Abdelfattah al-Sisi, who was elected for the first time in 2014, will be able to remain in office until 2030 if the current constitution stands. The recent video campaign against Sisi, which sparked street protests, points to growing dissatisfaction with the military, which has become even more powerful and richer under the current president. This dissatisfaction is also growing within the elites.
