Heribert Prantl
INSTRUCTIONS FOR POPULISTS
How to counter the new extremism
drains the water
Heribert PrantlFormerly a judge and public prosecutor. Today one of the best-known German journalists. Member of the editorial board and head of domestic policy at the »Süddeutsche Zeitung«.
Heribert Prantl's book lives up to its promise. It is an instruction manual for populists. Because it is not populism that is destroying our society, but populist extremism. In this sense, Prantl's book is a manifesto and an appeal for democratic populists who should inspire with reason and passion. Emotions must not be left to the extremists. Democratic populism must be positioned - for a democratic backfire.
Curated and moderated by Isolde Charim (philosopher, author)
The OPEN:SPACE discussion series is a joint initiative of Federal Minister Thomas Drozda and the Bruno Kreisky Forum for International Dialogue. The aim is to discuss socio-political issues in a cultural-political context.
