Intercultural Achievement Award 2026

Co-organised with the oiip and in cooperation with the BMEIA
This year’s presentation of the winning projects for the Intercultural Achievement Award will take place at the Bruno Kreisky Forum. With this award, the Foreign Ministry honours initiatives that promote intercultural and interfaith dialogue. This year’s winners come from Colombia, Montenegro, Jordan, Nigeria, Albania, Indonesia and Austria. Their projects range from conflict mediation and legal education, through artistic activism, journalism training to combat disinformation and educational work to combat hate speech, to culinary peace-building and social mentoring.
We are particularly delighted that members from our Austrian ALF network will also be presenting their work this time!
Following the presentation of the projects, there will be an opportunity to engage in conversation directly with the award winners and our ALF network members in smaller discussion groups. Above all, the evening is intended to provide a space for discussion – about the initiatives of the award winners and our network members, as well as your own. Together, we want to talk about the obstacles we face in practice and how civil society initiatives can make a difference.
