War and violence in countries characterised by Islam, with phenomena such as the „Islamic State“, which has also brought its terrorism to Europe: A shadow lies over Islam, refugees from Muslim countries are sometimes viewed with suspicion. The reasons for the crisis are not only religious, but also very much of a political nature. Nevertheless, the question is what kind of renewal Islamic theology needs in order to develop new approaches. And Europe could be the right place to develop these new approaches.
