Since 2010, Jacobin, founded by Bhaskar Sunkara, has been shaking up the intellectual scene in the USA as the mouthpiece of the new American left. In the magazine, young authors openly advocate socialism in the land of hypercapitalism. With its polemical articles, Jacobin quickly became an influential source of ideas for Occupy Wall Street and the movement around Bernie Sanders. The magazine now has a circulation of 30,000 copies and reaches around one million readers online every month.
