WHY WE MUST OVERTHROW THE CANNIBALISTIC WORLD ORDERJean Ziegler
Jean Zieglhe

Hunger, epidemics, thirst and other poverty-induced local conflicts destroy almost as many men, women and children every year as the Second World War did in six years. For the people of the Third World, the Third World War is undoubtedly in full swing. (The new rulers of the world, Jean Ziegler 2003)

Jean Ziegler, Vice-President of the Advisory Committee of the UN Human Rights Council and one of the most committed campaigners against the global famine, presents his new book. In it, he analyses the cannibalistic world order and outlines the intellectual's task of providing (intellectual) weapons to make the world a better place and to help the oppressed achieve human rights. He calls on us to change the world and contribute to a social order that is not based on domination and exploitation. At the same time, his new book is a kind of intellectual autobiography after 40 years of teaching, parliamentary and UN work.

After the book presentation, Alexandra Föderl-Schmid talks to the author.
