REBELLION IN IRAN

REBELLION IN IRAN
Iranians have been taking to the streets against the regime since mid-September. What began as outrage over the death of 22-year-old Kurdish woman Mahsa Amini at the hands of the morality police is by no means just an uprising by women against the dress code in the Islamic Republic. The protests have affected different sectors of society and parts of the country, all united by their rejection of a coercive order under an Islamic guise. The regime is reacting with repression and attempts to portray demonstrations in the peripheral areas, especially in Kurdistan, as „separatism“.
