RECOGNISING OPPORTUNITIES AND EXPLOITING POSSIBILITIES
Crisis management and future prospects in Vienna

Few people are as familiar with all aspects and facets of Vienna as Peter Hanke.
Since May 2018, he has been Vienna's City Councillor for Finance, Labour and International Affairs. In the social-liberal coalition government formed under Mayor Michael Ludwig after the last Vienna state and municipal elections in November 2020, he also assumed responsibility for Wiener Stadtwerke.
How is Vienna doing economically after a year and a half of the pandemic, how is the labour market looking, what are the main tasks of Vienna's economic policy at the moment and how is the international environment shaping up? BKF President Rudolf Scholten talked about these and other topics that are important for Vienna's future in Kreisky's living room.

Peter Hanke was born in Vienna in 1964, attended school here and studied business administration at the University of Vienna. He then worked in Viennese companies, from 1993 in the Wien Holding division. From 2002-2018, Peter Hanke was Managing Director of Wien Holding, which, with around 75 companies in four business areas - culture, real estate, logistics and media - makes a significant contribution to Vienna's excellent position in the competition between European cities.
