Crises in Lebanon, Syria and Iraq, the US election campaign and the uncertain outcome of the US presidential election in November, the showdown on the nuclear agreement with Iran, the rapprochement between Israel and the Gulf states, and the coronavirus pandemic as a dark cloud over everything. The Middle East is experiencing a hot autumn. Where is the region heading?

Daniel Gerlach is a German author, publicist, orientalist and Middle East expert. He is co-publisher and editor-in-chief of the magazine Zenith - Zeitschrift für den Orient.
