Moderation Robert Misik, Author and journalist
The world of work is increasingly characterised by fear and uncertainty. More than ten per cent of employees fear that they will lose their job within the next six months. Fixed-term contracts and atypical employment are on the rise. Women are even more affected than men. The standard employment relationship that the labour movement fought hard for is in danger of disappearing.
What do starvation wages, a lack of legal protection and a lack of social security mean for those affected and their families, and what strategies are there to combat this?
