BERND MARIN IN CONVERSATION WITH ROBERT MISIK
THE WORLD AFTERWARDS
Life, work and welfare after the corona camp

Comparative analysis of epidemic management in a global Europe: How can life, work and welfare be sustainably renewed after the acute health and economic crisis?
The book offers easy-to-read „pop science“ on the pandemic crisis of the century - in quarantine and afterwards. And openly states what is missing elsewhere.
A new format develops from interviews as a mix of social science study, investigative research and journalism. An informative chronicle of the intertwining of objective misfortune and institutional failure in the Western world - such as the „Italian tragedy“, its European significance and contributors.
Because in pandemic policy, sheer coincidence, i.e. luck/bad luck on the one hand interacts with skill/bad skill on the other. We see curious bureaucratic blunders, stupidity and indolence alongside collective learning, clever choice of strategy, intelligent management and administrative improvisation.
The book offers understandable answers to common questions about the corona crisis; accurate evidence-based observations; facts and figures; exciting case histories; thought-provoking food for thought; and original reflections on Europe's possible futures amidst great uncertainties and half-knowledge.
„Austria's most renowned social researcher“ (trend) in dialogue about quarantine and ways out of the coronavirus crisis.
