VICTOR ADLER: WHAT DOES THIS MASTER BUILDER OF THE REPUBLIC OF AUSTRIA TELL US TODAY?

VICTOR ADLER
What does this master builder of the Republic of Austria tell us today?
Screening and discussion
Victor Adler was one of the most important „master builders of the Republic“, portrayed in a new ORF III documentary in the series of the same name. Prior to the ORF-III premiere, the Bruno Kreisky Forum will host a pre-screening on Monday, 16 February, as well as a high-profile panel discussion on Victor Adler, the founder of the Austrian Social Democratic Workers' Party.
Michael Ludwig, Mayor of the City of Vienna and historian, discusses the role and perspectives of the exceptional politician Adler with experts. He is regarded as a symbol of social justice, solidarity and the unification process of social democracy in dramatic times of upheaval in Austria, Europe and globally. Social democracy as a democratic emancipation movement in a multi-ethnic state, as a pioneer in solving the social question and combating poverty, as a political force for women's emancipation and equal treatment, its peace policy and prospects for a European unification process - these and other topics that still concern us and social democracy today will be raised by the high-calibre panel.
Adler died one day before the First Republic was proclaimed, but he remained a role model for many, including Bruno Kreisky. What does he have to say to us today?
