Born in Vienna in 1956, more than 20 years as a war and crisis reporter from the Balkans to Afghanistan, Iraq, Iran and Lebanon, nine years as head of the foreign policy department at Kurier and author. Austrian State Prize for „journalistic achievements in the interests of spiritual national defence“ in 2000, lives as a passionate realist (her own definition) in Vienna's Rudolfsheim-Fünfhaus district, the district with the lowest purchasing power and the highest proportion of foreigners.
