Klaus Dörre
WORKER, DEVALUED, RIGHT

Workers‚ dissatisfaction and everyday criticism of the system remain politically homeless, partly due to the ‘de-proletarianisation' of the centre-left parties. Parties such as the AfD or the FPÖ are taking advantage of this mood and are becoming the vehicles of a kind of right-wing labour movement. The sociologist of labour Klaus Dörre has examined the attitudes and deep motives of female and male workers in a large number of studies. For him, it is striking that the social image of workers with an affinity for the right hardly differs from that of their social democratic peers.

People feel unfairly treated and therefore criticise the „system“. And they long for a republic in which workers were respected and performance was fairly rewarded. If you want to understand the frustration and anger of the working classes, there is no getting round the researcher Klaus Dörre.
