China is helping to shape the new world order, that's a fact. But how could this development take place at this speed? Who is Xi Jinping, the president and party leader who changed the constitution to expand his power? What does China's social development look like? Raimund Löw reported on political events for ORF from Beijing and Hong Kong. He and Kerstin Witt-Löw experienced the material rise of the Chinese middle class and the strict limits of censorship and political paternalism in the Middle Kingdom. An exciting reportage about the rising superpower of the 21st century.

CHINA IN VIEW - A programme series of the Bruno Kreisky Forum, curated by Irene Giner-Reichl in cooperation with the Institute for Peacekeeping and Conflict Management
How we in the EU perceive China has an impact on our political positioning. How the EU is perceived in China has an impact on China's political positioning. It is nothing unusual if the view from the outside and the respective self-image are not congruent. When it comes to China and the EU, however, it seems to the curator that the discrepancy between self-image and external view is particularly great. In a loose series of events, „China at a Glance“ attempts to bring these mutual perceptions into dialogue with each other and to build a new understanding of international relations in the 21st century, which China is playing a key role in shaping and profoundly changing.
