New lines of conflict due to social structural change

The emergence of post-industrial society is essentially determined by the change in the middle class. This is drifting apart into three parts: a new middle class, an old middle class and a new underclass. This structural change in society is giving rise to new lines of conflict. However, the victims of this epochal upheaval are the social democratic parties. Will they survive this political paradigm shift?

Andreas Reckwitz

Andreas Reckwitz is a German sociologist and cultural scientist. He is Professor of Comparative Cultural Sociology at the European University Viadrina in Frankfurt an der Oder. 
His book Die Gesellschaft der Singularitäten was nominated for the 2018 Leipzig Book Fair Prize in the non-fiction/essay category and received the Bavarian Book Prize in the non-fiction category in 2017.

On 8 November 2018 he presents his new book in our DEMOCRACY RELOADED series. Talk and moderation: Isolde Charim, author and philosopher.
