Bruno Kreisky Awards for services to human rights

The international jury of the Bruno Kreisky Prize for services to human rights has unanimously awarded this year's prize to the Turkish author Aslı Erdoğan for her outstanding services to the protection of human rights.

The national nominations: Queer Base and Christine Okresek for UMF Haus Liebhartstal. The prize of honour goes to the lawyer Wolfgang Kaleck in special recognition of his legal work for the European Centre for Constitutional and Human Rights (ECCHR).

The Bruno Kreisky Foundation is also celebrating its 40th anniversary and will award the oldest renowned human rights prize in Austria, named after Federal Chancellor Bruno Kreisky, on 9 June 2017 in the State Hall of the Austrian National Library.
