WALK THROUGH THE DECADES

Heinz Fischer has witnessed and helped shape Austria's history from many angles - as a publicist, a minister, a passionate parliamentarian and, most recently, as Federal President. His 80th birthday in October 2018 is an appropriate time to look back and revisit the private and political paths of the past. It is an ideal opportunity to sound out what has remained, what must not be forgotten and what should come.

Heinz Fischer relives events from past decades and reflects on them. It is also a journey into his family history - his own and the dramatic one of his wife Margit, who was born in Swedish emigration.

The first presentation of the book will take place on 3 October 2018 at the Kreisky Forum!
