The stand-off between Russian opposition leader Alexej Navalny and the Russian president Vladimir Putin enters a new stage
Since the Russian opposition leader Alexej Navalny was poisoned with the nerve agent Novichok in August 2020 the world is watching the increasingly tense fight between Alexej Navalny and the Russian president Vladimir Putin. In conversation with Tessa Szyszkowitz Nina Khrushcheva, Professor of International Affairs at The New School in New York and curator at Kreiskyforum, will analyse what the return of Navalny to Moscow means for Putin, how a longer jail sentence for Navalny could change his anti-corruption movement and with which methods European countries can react to the crackdown on the Russian opposition by the Russian government.
