Mehrézia Labidi-Maiza
is a Tunisian politician and professional translator and interpreter. She became the first vice-president of the Constituent Assembly of Tunisia after the revolution in 2011 and helped to include a clause to protect women’s rights into Tunisia’s post “Arab Spring” constitution. Labidi-Maiza is also engaged in multi-religious networks of women from different faiths advocating the empowerment of women, the promotion of peace in various fields of social life and the development of projects of conflict transformation and reconciliation in collaboration with UN bodies.
