„Kreisky here!“ alludes to the role of the social democratic, cosmopolitan, internationally recognised politician who, progressive and communicative, was regarded as the „media chancellor“ in Austria. Kreisky could be reached at his private number 37 12 36, which was listed in the telephone directory: Neither a tribune of the people nor a chancellor of the people, he was committed to addressing the concerns and worries of the citizens: „A politician must like the people“ was his motto - worldwide. A contemporary multimedia exhibition is intended to reflect this modern understanding of politics and dialogue.

Kreisky by no means wanted to see a monument to himself: With this exhibition, we are therefore tracing his eventful life in the light of Austria's 20th century history and global developments. In an innovative, creative and committed way, we will link his political work and his credo for non-partisan and cross-border dialogue with our programme of events, which will address the challenges, questions and solutions of the present and future. We will invite artists and cultural professionals to comment on Bruno Kreisky in a multi-layered and interactive way.

„Bruno Kreisky appealed for more political and historical education, also as a prerequisite for strengthening democracy, equal opportunities and equal treatment in a prosperous welfare state and an Austria that wanted and was able to play a role on the world stage precisely because of its ‘active neutrality“. With the exhibition, we invite visitors to engage in discourse and interactive participation - before and after public events, as part of guided tours, Vienna tours and school visits.
