Irene Horejs

Retired EU Ambassador.

Mag.a Irene Horejs, MA worked for the European Union in international affairs for over two decades, including as EU Ambassador to Niger, Mali, the Dominican Republic, Cuba, and Peru. At the European Commission, she served as Head of Unit for Development Policy and as Director for Africa, Asia and Latin America within the European Civil Protection and Humanitarian Aid Department (DG ECHO). Her special expertise concerns security and development policy issues relating to Africa and Latin America.
