Solmaz Khorsand

Born 1985 in Vienna, journalist, author and podcaster. Former roles as an editor at Wiener Zeitung, Die Zeit, derStandard.at, Datum, and the Swiss magazine Republik.

Khorsand lived in the USA, Italy, Switzerland and Iran. For her work, she has been honoured with awards including the Vienna Women Journalists' Prize 2018.
Solmaz Khorsand gives speeches on socio-political issues, for example at the Salzburg Festival on „Revolt“, the opening speech for the Globart Discourse Festival, and with „Vienna, you old punk“ that for the Vienna Year of Democracy and most recently a „Vienna Reading“ on stamina.
Khorsand's work spans a broad spectrum, from the Austrian mentality and geopolitics to pop culture. For the Bruno Kreisky Forum, she is increasingly focusing on issues of conflict management and peace research.
