UNRWA Mohammed Shareef

In yesterday's "ZIB 2" long version, from 28.04., Roland Friedrich, Director of the UN Palestinian Relief and Works Agency (UNRWA) in the West Bank, spoke in an interview about the situation in the Gaza Strip. Despite food deliveries, the situation remains precarious, as basic supplies are still lacking in various places. At the same time, the number of communicable diseases is rising and over 600,000 children have no access to education. He also reported on ongoing destruction by Israeli forces and emphasised UNRWA's goal of creating functioning state structures without Hamas and enabling the implementation of the peace plan.

The Bruno Kreisky Forum is delighted, this evening at 19:00, Mr Friedrich, as well as other interesting guests. At the event "HUMANITARIAN AID 2026: HOW CAN IT GET TO THOSE WHO NEED IT?", our guests will be presented by Tessa Szyszkowitz discuss the work of the UN and numerous NGOs in the Palestinian territories, with a particular focus on the organisational opportunities and difficulties arising from the current political and security situation.

We cordially invite you to join us and hope to welcome you to the Forum this evening.
